What happens when you gather thousands of mountain bikers in one of the most prime mountain bike regions in South Africa, add in magical trails, incredible food, great wine, and the chance to enjoy their time off the bike as much as on it? GEES.

GEES is the proudly South African word that means spirit and it’s something that is better experienced than explained. Gees also happens to form part of the FNB Wines2Whales tagline (the race with gees) and it lives in everything at the event from the route to the riders, the food to the friends, the bikes to the beers.

This year, Giant is bringing the gees and giving riders the chance to win an entry to next year’s event before they’ve even finished enjoying the gees of the 2023 event!

RIDE REVIEW REWARD

Visit the Giant/Liv activation at the 2023 FNB Wines2Whales race village at Oak Valley Estate.

Demo one of the bikes (choose between the Giant Anthem Advanced Pro 1, Trance X Advanced E+ Elite 1, Stance E+1 Pro, Stance 2, or Revolt X) on the marked route.

Review the bike on www.giant-bicycles.co.za.

Hold thumbs, rub your lucky rabbit’s foot, or find a four leaf clover and hope.

That’s it, you’re in it to win it.

In addition to giving participants the chance to secure their entry into next year, Giant will also be adding to the gees through the Giant Happy Hour from 5-6PM every day!

Friends new and old are welcome to join team Giant each evening for free drinks, chats with our athletes and ambassadors, a browse of the bikes and gear on display, and for a game of highly competitive corn toss against the likes of Mariske Strauss, Craig Kolesky, and the Imbuko Giant team (yes, there will be prizes up for grabs!).
